Meeting with a Career Counselor
Updated: Jul 15, 2020
One of the unique services that we offer at The Cradle Pregnancy Resource Center is the opportunity to meet with a Career Counselor. Kathleen Fredericks is our guest writer to share what career counseling looks like at CPRC.
Hi CPRC community, my name is Kathleen and I love working with individuals who are looking for help in their career paths. It can be difficult and overwhelming to pick a career, a training program or a college, especially when you are juggling caring for children or navigating a pregnancy. I'm here to help you make decisions not only how you can support yourself now, but also what a fulfilling, self-sustaining career would look like in the future.
Here's a brief run-down of what we can work on during our time together.
Identify interests, passions and unique skills.
Build a good-looking resume.
Create an Indeed job profile.
Identify short-term needs and long-term goals.
Research training programs or college programs.
Complete a FAFSA form for financial aid.
Practice interview skills.
Make a realistic budget.
Research childcare options.
Explore transportation options.
We are happy to partner with you in this journey! If you feel that any of these services could be helpful to you please contact Kathleen using the info below.
